owing to the frequent allowers of rain which &II

Wing, down yestrirday from Galena, report the
Upper Mississippi ~at a stand from that place down

Dr. Franklin arrived at Galena from - St Peters on
the day that the Red Wing led, and reported the
river falling above. The Whirlwind tenons th/e

Prairie Bird reports the Illinois falling with six to
seven feet water in the channel. Here the river is
receding steadily, with still plenty of water in the
channel to Cairo, for first class bonts.
