Gifts from Germany for Oar Soldiers.
One of the steamers of the Hamburg and
America" Steamship Company, lately ar
rived, brought to this port over eighty
large paokages of fine linen mid lint, which
had been contributed- by the friends of the
I Union along the Rhine, for the benefit of
t our and wounded soldiers. Some of
the paokages were of the eise of hogsheads,
and all were made up of the best materiaL

I “Rhine, Bavaria. For the Wounded De-

I ages were a free gift of the freedom-loving
I men and women of Rhineland, and were
