Our force was less than 1,000, part of whom were unarmed. The rebels were repulsed with considerable loss. Our loss was five killed and seventeen wounded. The Catinet at New York. Nxw York, April 10.—The French gun boat Catinet arrived at this port this morn ing. The steamer Catinet reports that- she was seventy-two hours on her passage from Charleston. The Late Biot at Halifax, Ua-LlTax, April 18.—Whisky was the prime mover in the Ut* riot, the origin of which, was the rough handling of a soldltfr at a re cent eelebration.
