" If i! t n i t 1 !. I ; 1 t' ' J 1 !i i i t I I ; 4 i 4 ' .1 '. i ! ! V l 1 ; . ' is Tha Result in the State. Th Woodward State Committee have made oi their estimate of the Tote fur Governor at the eiiKuing election, hased poo the n-port of their party friend in tho different cumitie. A War 1 Vinuernt, mjpotcd by thcin to be "all right on the pxw-e," called at tli Committee room in rhilad.dphia to ascertain how their esti mate footed up. lie was shown the calculation, which elected Woodward, by a bare majority of 6,600 votes. Looking ever the counties to tec how this result was obtained, he found Berks reported to give 7.H00 for C orpe Y. Woodward ; Montgomery 1,800; Schuylkill, ?,000; YorE, 3,000, and so on, while in Philadel phia, Laucastcr, Allegheny, &c, the ma jorities for Curtin were correspondingly reduced. The Wood wardites on the Com mittee as good as conceded that the game was up, unless lce could he induced to make another raid into Pennsylvania about election time. This was their ouly hope. We may add, in this connection, that the Union State Committee have also made op their. table of probable majorities upon data furnished by reliable parties in the different counties. In their calcula tion ISerks is set down at 6100 majority for Woodward, (more t an she can give,) Schuylkill 3,000; Montgomery 1,200, &o. Philadelphia 6,000 for Curtin ; Lau cantcr 5,500, Allegheny 6,000, &e. The result foots np about 30,000 majority for Curtin in the State. The tide is netting strongly in the right quarter, and is gaiu ing impetus every day. The election of the Union State Ticket by a large majori-1 ty is beyond all doubt, if a full vote be jiullcd. An Ominous Incident. Henry C. Data, a Southern preacher, who acted as Chaplain of the House of Represcntatives.elccted to that position by the votes of Southern Congressmen, just previous to the breskiog oat of the rebell ion emigrated to one of the Western States, and was employed as ane of the speakers at th to-ealled Democratic meet ing in Suobory, last Tuesday. Wbcn this renegade preacher was denouncing d slandering the Government, in the midst of his slanderous and treasonable tirade, dewn web. the platform on which ha was speaking, and down with it went Henry C. Dean, Geo. W. Woodward, Walter Lowry, and the rest of the mag nates titling upon it Afier the crash, Woodward wis first to stick bis bead above the ruins, followed by tbe bald pate of Lowrie, while Dean, and the rest of the speaktrs, Presidents; Vice Presidents, and Secretaries, crawled oat of the rains like so many copperheads crawling out of a heap of loose rubbish. Highly excited about the breaking of their platform and the downfall of their "State Ticket," they accused the Union men of tampering with ;bir stand, and, being greatly in the majority on the ground, number of these so-called Dem esra'ts fell opon a wounded soldier by tbe Dame of Towoshend, whose arm bad been shattered at Gettysburg, and was s'ill in lliog, and mod crucify beat and h'uked thit maimed defender of hit couulry ! The breaking down of the platform, and tbe tumbling to the ground of tbe copper head . State nominees, Woodward and Jowrie, arc ominous of the fate which waits tbem on tbe 13 h of this month.
