Mr. Gibson had attended a conven tion of the National Association of Piano Manufacturers at Chicago, and later to the National Rotary Clubs convention at Salt Rake City, from which place he went to Spo kane, where he had gone to visit a cousin. In politics Mr. Gibson was a Re pubiican and in IS9B he was elected to the select council of York from the Second ward. He was president of the Weaver Piano Cooipany at the time of his death, and was one of the organisers of the York Card and Paper Company, one of York's largest manufacturing plants. He was a membr of the International Advisory Board of the Philadelphia Commercial Museum and was a delegate to the Congress of Delc- ELAJUUSBTTRG TELEGRAPH gates for North and South America in 1897. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Manufac turers' Association, Rotary Clubs, a director of the York Y. M. C. A. for more than a quarter of a cen tury; vice-president of the Pennsyl vania Sabbath School Association, vtcepresident of Hood College. Frederick, Md., and superintendent of Heidelberg Reformed Sunday school for twenty-five years, and was affiliated with several secret or ganizations.
