Mount Wolf Company Can Work Only Eight Hours THOSE UNDER 16 YEARS Union Store Company Secur ing Many Negroes For Work in Quarries Mount Wolf, Pa., Aug. 4. Em ployes of the American Wire Fabrics Plant had Monday and Tuesday of this week off, so the company could take account of stock. The plant re sumed operation Wednesday morning under the new law of the State, which will not permit boys under six teen to work more than eight hours per day. There are a great many such employed and will affect the output of the company considerably. Within the last two days the Union Stone Company have taken through here about forty negroes to be employed at the plant near New Holland. This makes the present force of workmen over a hundred. This force will be enlarged as fast as buildings to accommodate more can be erected. Mr. and Mrs. I. Park Wogan spent Sunday in York as the guests of Mrs. Wogan s mother, Mrs. Sophie Katz. A dinner was served at the Katz home in honor of Lieutenant John Katz, who was home on a brief furlough from his command, which is located near Philadelphia for the present. Linglestown Embroidery Club Holds Picnic Linglestown, Pa., Aug. 4. The Embroidery club, of town, held its annual picnic at Paxtang Park on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Pa., Aug. 4. On Wednesday and Thursday, August 22 and 23, the first Farmers' and Indus trial Union Picnic Encampment will be held at Williams Grove. Strong, East Main street, to celebrate the eighth birthday of their son, Raymond L Strong, from having a royal good time, on Tuesday afternoon. Games and contests were enjoyed. In the donkey contest Ruth Ashenfelter won first prize and Winifred Smith, second. Luncheon was served and capping the climax was a wonderful birthday cake decorated with red can dies in form of an eight-pointed star and a red candle at each point.
