The board held its first meeting to-day since March, and it was announced that owing to the fact that the National Guard is now in federal service and will bo so for an indefinite time, and that when drafted its units will cease to be. In the National Guard, It had been determined not to erect any new buildings for the present. Tho board approved the temporary boards named to take charge of ar mories, practically all of whom are men who had charge while the guard units were on the Mexican border. 'J'. G. Feglcy, Trenuiot, was to-day appointed captain of the supply com pany of the Fourth Infantry; Rob ert A. Young, Allentown, battalion adjutant of the Fourth Infantry, and Conrad P. Zimmerman, Camp Hill, second lieutenant, of the machine gun company of the Eighth Infantry. Nominating petitions for common pleas judge have been tiled by An drew B. Smith, Susquehanna; Wil liam B. Mussina and Allen Sterner, Clinton. The September meeting of tho State Board of Pardons has been postponed until September 25. It was scheduled for September 19, which is the fall primary day. Tlie Pittsburgh company of tho military police and No. 0 Ammu nition Truck Company, of Harris burg, have been ordered to Mount Gretna. Auditor General Charles A. Snyder, named as respondent in mandamus proceedings brought Tuesday to force him to recognize certain of ficials, was wondering when he was going to be served with the papers in tho cases all day to-day. He awaited service yesterday and to-day was inclined to call up the various offices and ask whether he had been sued or not. Back of the delay is an interesting story of Dauphin county thrift. The court officials, always anxious to save costs, have been trying to get extra copies of the papers instead of making them. Now they are being made at State ex pense, and Mr. Snyder will be a legal respondent before nightfall. CapiKvi eliaraieii were in a state of insurrection to-day because Charles Hunter, a colored member of their force, was giving orders. William Willis, tho foreman, is sick and Hunter turned up in charge. Super intendent Shreiner declared he had not put Hunter in charge and Hunter refused to say who told him to give orders. The men are going to see Mr. Shreiner about it. , Governor Brumbaugh's oflico to day announced the appointment of the following trustees of the Cottage State Hospital for Injured Persons at Mercer: A.
