The musical program will be in charge of a pipe organist, and a group of noted New York sing ers, who will be brought here for the occasion by Joseph Riter, of New York, a brother-in-law of J. Gillmore Fletcher. It promises to be the greatest musical treat that Greencastle has ever enjoyed. Tick ets of admission have been mailed to all the members of Presbyterian Church and congregation, and to all the former members ot the church now residents of adjacent towns. — The senior and junior classes of the High School rendered "A Mid- Summer's Night Dream" on the lawn of the Presbyterian Church.— The First National and Citizens' Bank, of Greencastle. have sub scribed for $90,000 worth of Lib erty Loan bonds.—The Pan Piper's Glee Club has been invited to sing at the State Christian Endeavor As sociation at Martinsburg next week. SATURDAY EVENING, OVER HALF WANT TO BE EXEMPT Registration in Adams County Shows Big Percentage in That Class COST OF TRAINING CAMP Estimated That Million Per Month Will Be Needed For Supplies at Gettysburg Gettysburg, Pa., June 23.—0f the 2,421 men who registered in Adams county under the draft act 1,558 of them claim exemption for various causes.—The Kurtz playground was formally opered for the season on Thursday.—Estimates of the ex pense of operating the training camp here have been made and the figures show that the quartermas ter's department alone will cost over a million dollars a month. This does not include any of the salaries of the men or expense of any kind ex desertion sh rdltoun taun taunhrn cept the supplies. Charged with desertion and non-maintenance Roy Griffin, a young man of Granite Sta tion, has been arrested in Balti more. Young Griffin married Miss Merna Geisler. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Geisler, of near Bon neauvllle. several months ago and disappeared soon afterward. He was brought back to Adams county and gave bail for his appearance at court. —A double quartet of men from the different churches of town will furnish the music at the serv ices to be held at the Fourth Regi ment camp to-morrow afternoon.— A four-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Glatfelter. of near town, had two toes on his left foot cleanly sev ered by the mechanism of a corn planter. The father was pulling the corn planter into a shed when the accident occurred.-—The regimental bands from camp will give concerts in town at Intervals during their rtay here. The first concert was last Saturday by the organizations from the Fourth regiment.—The two fur niture factories have offered a bonus of twenty per cent, of their wages to the employes in order to keep them at work. So many of the hands had quit to accept work at the camp where big wages are being given, that it was feared that operations at the factories would be seriously crippled and the bonus was given to hold the men.—Two arrests have been made charging the offenders with furnishing liquor to soldiers. LONG Dauphin, Pa., June 23.—Success ful culmination of a two years' ro mance took place last Sunday when Miss Mayme Garman, daughter of Mrs. Clara Garman, of Dauphin, and Harvey D. Long, of Erie, were mar ried by the Rev. Mr. Herman, of the Lutheran Church, at Erie. The marriage came as a surprise to the friends of the young couple here. Mrs. Long was one of the most ac complished and popular membeit of the Dauphin younger set. Mr. Long is a graduate of the Sunbury High School and employed by the Penn sylvania Railroad Company In the electrical department.
