APPEAL TO STATE TO STOP LIQUOR Resolutions Asking Legislature to Prohibit Manufacture and Sale Passed by Convention liemosTie, Pa., March 9. —Resolu- tions petitioning both houses of the State Legislature to wipe out the shame and crime of intemperance in tho State at the coming session by passing a bill prohibiting the manu facture, sale and importation of liquor into the State for beverage purposes and commending Congress at Wash ington on its recent "bone-dy"' bill, were passed by the Cumberland Coun ty Sabbath School Association at its forty-fifth annual session in the Church of Christ yesterday. Resolutions expressing the Associa tion's appreciation for the hospitality of the Lemoyne people were also passed. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, James L. EMILY BLACK DIES Mechanicsburg, Pa,. March 9. —Mrs. Emily Black died yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Frank Kutz, 111 West Coover street, after two weeks' illness of a compli cation of diseases. She was aged 84 years, and a member of the Church of the Brethren. Two daughters and one son survive, Mrs. F. J. Kutz, of Mechanicsburg; Mrs. Anna Logan, pf Plainfield, and Robert Black, of Pin gree. 111. The funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the house, and at 2 o'clock at the Church of the Brethren, conducted by the Rev. J. M. Mohler.
