EXTREME CAUTION SHOWN BY MARKET U. S. and Bethlehem Steel Fall; Secondary Offerings at Low Levels; Anglo-French Bonds Reach New Low # New York, Feb. 9. Extreme cau-| tion was reflected in the course of prices during the day's early trading. Initial quotations showed few changes beyond factional limits but secondary offerings were mainly at low levels. United States Steel fell a pofnt from Its top price with 1 to almost 2 points for Crucible and Lackawanna Steel, and 1% for Bethlehem Steel "rights." Other heavy features included Am erican Woolen, Industrial Alcohol, Atlantic Gulf and West Indies and Central Leather. The trend of foreign bonds were seen in the weakness of Anglo-French 5s which broke all pre vious low records at 9%. From the ease with which prices rallied it was the general opinion that the irregular declines after the open ing were mainly due to short selling. Industrials, comprising the steel group and popular equipments soon rose to or above yesterday's linal figures with oils. Marine pfd., Central Leather and Pittsburgh Coal.
