GIRL WAITS WITH CHUM FOR DEATH [Continued From First Page. ] kill himself In the morning. They j were only boy and girl. He was 18 and she 16, but he had reasoned it out quite calmly and deliberately. "My mother doesn't want me to go j with you." he said. "I can't do with out you. and there isn't anything else to do. I am going to shoot myself at j 2.30 in *he morning." After church: they went to the grove near the rail- j road tracks. It had always been sa cred to sweethearts, that grove. Now it was to be the trysting-plaee of death. The boy and the girl sat down on a log. It was damp and chilly and they, had several hours to wait. "Is your watch right?" the boy asked, after a while. The girl inspected the little i gold watch suspended about her neck and nodded. For along time they, were ! quiet. The sound of the churchgoers had died away and one by one the j lights In the houses went out. There, were no stars. Once a man with a lantern went by along the railroad tracks, but the rest of the time it was very dark. "What time is it?" The watch by the light of a match , showed an hour to wait. That was the longest hour of all. Nothing in the world seemed alive but the boy and girl, out there alone in the darkness under the ragged clouds. "What time is it?" She struck a match. It went out. Another, which she held in the cup or her hands. The watch showed half past 2. The boy arose, lifting his hand from his pocket as he did so. "Good-by," he said, and fired. A watchman on the Tailroad track heard the shot and the girl's scream and ran to her. The boy was dead and I she was kneeling over him. It was a j long time before she could tell the 1 story. TWO TYPHOID SUSPECTS William Dunbar, of West Fairvlew, blacksmith's helper in the Enola yards of the Pennsylvania railroad, and Mrs. James Wert, 531 Woodbine street, I were admitted to the Harrisburg hos pital to-day, suffering, it is believed,, from typhoid fever. TO NAME OFFICERS The Men's Bible class of the Luth eran Church of the Redeemer, Nine teenth and Kensington street, taught, by E. N. Lebo. will hold its monthly' meeting to-night. Officers will be nominated. Cocoanut Oil Fine For Washing Hair If you want to keep your hair in good condition, be careful what you wash It with. Most soaps and prepared shampoos! contain too much alkali. This dries' the scalp, makes the hair brittle, and' is very harmful. Just plain mulsi iied cocoanut oil (which is pure and entirely greaseless), is much better, than the most expensive soap or any thing else you can use for shampooing,! as this can't possibly injure the hair. Simply moisten your hair with water j and rub it in. One or two teaspoon- 1 fuls will make an abundance of rich, creamy lather, and cleanses the hair, and scalp thoroughly. The lather rinses; out easily, and removes every particle j of dust, dirt, dandruff and excessive oil. The hair dries quickly and even ly, and it leaves it fine and silky, ] bright, fluffy and easy to manage. You can get mulslfied cocoanut oil at most any drug store. It is very cheap, and a few ounces is enough to , last everyone in the family fori months.—Advertisement. !|l -.[l OIBNEY solid tires Best of Home and Imported Creations DISTRIBUTOR ALFRED H.
