I.—The annual re port of the American Can Company for 1915 showed an Increase of $726,- 000| net earnings and an increase of $653,000 in surplus. Earnings are equivalent to the full seven per cent, on the preferred stock and 5.20 on [the common shares as against 2.40 for the latter in 1914.
