Lieutenant Ross Gets Memento From Rookie Robert Bacon, former ambassador to Paris from this country and Nelson O'Shaughnessy, late minister to Mex ico, were among the prominent rookies who. received cavalry instruction at the Plattshurg businessmen's camp from Lieutenant Frank K. Ross, son of George R. Ross 6f this city. Lieut. Ross was detailed to Plattsburg from the Gordon Institute, Barnesville, Ga., wheer he is commandant for two years. He was one of the command ers of the camp who were presented by the businessmen with wrist watches as a tribute to them for their services. A letter of appreciation was received by Lieut. Ross from the Knicker bocker Club, New York, in which a luminous watch was presented by the committee for the men who worked under him in the cavalry troop. Mrs. Labaree and Her Three Children Home Unscathed by the harrowing ex periences of a year in terrorized Persia, Mrs. Robert M. Labaree and three chubby-faced children, Eliza beth and Robert, twins aged 6 years and Benjamin, aged 5 years, arrived in Harrisburg at 2:35 o'clock this aft ernoon to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Samuel W. Fleming, 104 South street. Mrs. Labaree Is the wife of the Rev. Robert M. Labaree, a missionary of j the Presbyterian church stationed at Urumiah, Persia, the heart of the territory which has been ravished for months by the half-wild Kurds. She was accompanied from New York by her father, Samuel W. Fleming. As Mrs. Labaree stepped through the gate at the Pennsylvania station into the train shed, she was met by a crowd of eager, questioning friends. Smiling, she assured them that her harrowing experiences had left her unharmed. "Sailing from Tabriz, Persia, Sep tember 7," Mrs. Labaree told her ques tioners, "we went to Petrograd. Rus sia. We remained here until we se cured passage to New York by way of Norway and Sweden. We had a safe, uneventful voyage." Mrs. Labaree left her husband in ex cellent health, she said. He is now at Urumiah, an interior town, where a mission is maintained. The sessions will last three days. • Little Girl Takes Auto and Hunts "Fairyland" Pittsburgh, Oct. 11.—Ten-year-old Ida Herbert's effort to find fairyland caused great excitement and led to a frantic search by her parents and the police when she disappeared from her home last night. The girl was found this morning sleeping in an automobile five miles from her home by Lieuten ant Frank Vincent after an all-night search. When the officer woke her she re marked: "I guess I might as well go home. I didn't find it." Being asked what she was searching for, she re plied: "Fairyland" She left home early last evening and went to two moving picture shows. Then she had some Ice cream. After that, she says, she found a "nice little auto in the street" and proceeded to use it in her hunt for the good fairies. Knowing how to run the machine, she rlaced her companion, a small doll. In the rear and started. When found this morning the machine had been pitched, but still was upright on the side of a road. The machine was identified as one left standing on High land avenue by Mrs. L. Ferber.
