Anti-Liquor Measure Dies in State Medical Society Convention By Associated Press Philadelphia, Sept. 23.—An effort to enlist the Medical Society of Penn sylvania In an agitation against liquor failed to-day when the House of delegates of that body, in session here, refused to adopt an antiliquor reso lution Introduced by Philadelphia delegates. Acting on the advice of the commit tee to which the resolution was refer red on Tuesday, the society took no action whatever on the question, there by letting the resolution die a natural death. The reason given was that the propaganda is a political issue and therefore outside the jurisdiction of the society. Before leaving Trinidad Mr. Roce feller had an interview with Joe Rizzi, an Italian coal miner and for mer striker, who came here to thank the oil magnate for the SIOO,OOO given by the Rockefeller Foundation for the relief of unemployed men after the strike was called off. Rizzi is tho miner whose telegram lo Mr. Rocke feller last Spring appealing for aid for the destitute wives and children of former strikers, led directly to the foundation contribution and the in auguration of an extensive system of road improvements by which several hundred men were given employment.
