General Motors i made an Initial gain of 3 points to 253 j and Crucible Steel rose 1% to 86, with i gains of a point In others of that | group. Tennessee Copper was the j only metal issue to record a gain, I advancing 2 % to 57 %. Railways were j irregular, Reading's advance of a point to 151% soon being lost. Rock Island was heavy, losing 1% to 18'/*, prob ably as a result of the withdrawal of an important interest from further connection with the property.
