The company very readily agreed not to run anything into the stream, but would willingly install the filter sys tem which the department recom mended and which since it has been installed has proven that it is able to meet all requirements. After the filter system was com pleted the coal company released the mine water which had been stored up for over a year and drained through the filter system between 15 and 20 acres of mine water; at times there being an S-inch stream; the water after going through the filter was turned into Sandy creek and the water was so clear that none of the residents knew that it was turned into the stream. The dimensions of the filter beds at this plant are as follows: two com partments of limestone, each measur ing about three feet wide, three feet long and three feet deep. The ap proximate cost of this plant was S9O; 560 for labor and lumber and about S4O for carload of limestone. This amount of limestone will last about one and a half to two years. Vegeta tion in the stream below the point where the filter is installed has com menced to grow. This filter system will take care of all discharge from mines, the size of the plan depending on the amount of water discharged and the size of the mine. The Depart ment of Fisheries that this problem has been' solved and hopes that others will follow and Install the system which will do so much to con serve fish life and which costs so little for the benefit derived. Namm « ass »s aasa a• a TO PUT ON FLESH AND INCREASE WEIGHT A PHA'SICIAN'S ADVICE Most thin people eat from four to six pounds of good solid fat-making food every day and still do not Increase in'welght one ounce, while on the other hand many of the plump, chunky folks eat very lightly and keep gaining all the time. It's all bosh to say that this is the nature of the Individual. It Isn't Nature's way at all. Thin folks stay thin becouse their powers of assimilation are defective. Thev absorb just enough of the food they eat to maintain life and a sem blance of health and strength. Stuff ing won't help them. A dozen meals a dav won't make them gain a single "stay there" pound. All the fat-produc ing elements of their food just stay In the intestines until they pass from the bodv as waste. What such people need Is something that will prepare these fatty food elements so that their blood can absorb them and deposit them all about the body—something, too. that will multiply their red blood corpus cles and increase their blood's carry ing power. For such a condition I always recom mend eating a Sargol tablet with every meal. Sargol is not, as some believe, a patented drug, but is a scientific combination of six of the most effective and powerful flesh building elements known to chemistry. It Is absolutely harmless, yet wonderfully e«tfctive and a single tablet eaten with each nieal often has the effect of increasing the weight of a thin man or woman from three to five pounds a week. Sar gol is sold by G. A. Gorgas and other good druggists everywhere on a posi tive guarantee of weight increase or money back. Willard and Bond, who head the bill, are the same big hit in their negro travesty, "Detee tivlsm," that they were when they played in town. The act is one of the best laughing sketches in vaudeville. There is not a dull moment in it. Prob ably the biggest hit made at the park this season was made by The Sheldons, an act not billed on the program, as they are taking the place of another act. The Sheldons are a man and little I child in an acrobatic offering, and tlix I child is about the fastest child pei l former that we ever have seen. There lis nothing in the acrobatic line she docs not do from ground tumbling to I hand balancing. The Carolina Duo were remarkabry clever in a smart dancing act; Fran* Hurley presented a musical act that is different from the average, and clever ly done, while Guth Bros.' trained bears do grotesque dances and challenge an> I one in the audience to a wrestling match. A volunteer was found last evening but it is doubtful if he appears again. The bear is certainly "a bear" at the wrestling game. The feature attraction for Thursday evening will be a grand fireworks dis play before the show starts in the theater and Manager Davis promises to start his fireworks series off with a regular exhibition if the weather is fair on Thursday evening.—Advertisement. First of Two Fly Swatting Contests Ends on July 31 The Civic Club is conducting two campaigns against the fly this year. The committee in charge that day will be Mrs. Robert Hatfield Irons, chairman; Mrs. William Henderson, President of the Civic Club; Miss Rachael Pollock and Mrs. Mabel Cronise Jones. HOW TO GAIN WEIGHT; A POUND A DAY Thin men and women who would like to Increase their weight with 10 or 15 pounds of healthy "stay there" fat should try eating: a little Sargol with their meals for a whtle and note re sults. Here is a good test worth try ing. First weigh yourself and measure yourself. Then take Sargol—one tab let with every meal for two weeks.' Then weigh and measure again. It ( isn't a question of how you look or feel or what your friends say and think. The scales and the tape measure will tell their own story and most any thin man or woman can easily add from five to eight pounds In the first .four teen days by following this simple di rection. And best of all ,the new flesh stays put. Sargol does not of itself make fat. hut mixing with your food, it turns the fats, sugars and starches of what you have eaten into rich, ripe, fat producing nourishment for the tissues and blood —prepares It in an easily assimilated form which the blood can readily ac cept. All this nourishment now passes from your body as waste. But Sargol stops the waste and does It quickly and makes the fat producing contents of the very same meals you are eating now develop pounds and pounds of healthy flesh between your skin and bones. Sargol is safe, pleasant, ef ficient and Inexpensive. G. A. SAYS NO ONE NEED REMAIN THIN NOW Physician'* Advice Fof Thin, I'ndc veioped Men and Women Thousands of people suffer from ex cessive thinness, weak nerves and feeble stomachs who, having tried ad vertised flesh-makers .food-fads, physi cal culture stunts and rub-on creams, resign themselves to lifelong sklnnl ness and think nothing will make them fat. Yet their case is not hopeless. A recently discovered regenerative force makes fat grow after years of thin ness, and is also unequalled for re pairing the waste of sickness or faulty digestion and for strengthening the nerves This remarkable discovery is called Sargol. Six strength-giving, fat producing elements of acknowledged merit have been combined in this peer less preparation, which is endorsed by eminent physicians and used by promi nent people everywhere. It is absolute ly harmless, inexpensive and efficient. A month's systematic use of Sargol should produce flesh and strength by correcting faults of digestion and by supplying highly concentrated fats to the blood. Increased nourishment is obtained from the food eaten, and the additional fats that thin people need are provided. G. A. Gorgas and other leading druggists supply Sargol and say there Is a large demand for it. While this now preparation has given splendid results as a nerve, tonic and vltalizer, it should not he used by nervous people unless they wish to gain at least ten pounds of flesh.
