Pa., April 6—A spark fi*jni a traction engine, used in timber cut ting operations, at White Hope, on the Lebanon county line, created havoc yesterday afternoon. A grist mill and ice house, the property of Maurice Hollinger, and a big barn and icehouse, the property of William Greenly, were burned to the ground. The loss will reach about $7,000. ANOTHER FEAT FOR PEGOUD Paris. April 6, 5.15 A. M.—Another daring exploit has been added to the long list of those successfully carried out by Adolphe Pegoud, the famous French aviator, who Is reported to have attacked and brought down a German Taube near Saint Menehould, while he was alone on patrol duty April 2. He took prisoner the Ger man pilot and observer. Pegoud first gained fame in 1913 as the originator of the feat of flying upside down in an aeroplane. BOVS HIKE TO DAUPHIN Company B. Harvey Taylor, su perintendent of parks and public property. As might have been expected Mayor Royal voted "no." Likewise Mr. Gorgas. Mayor Royal, however, admitted that the city will get the advantage of an exceptional bargain by adopt ing Mr. Taylor's recommendation. Action on the ordinance authorizing the city to purchase the Fourth and Ktnerald street, plot for playground purposes at $27,000 was postponed at the suggestion of Mr.Taylor. Soon after the amount of the purchase price for the Emerald street plot had been made public Mr. Taylor said he re ceived an offer from J. L. Shearer for a plot, on the block above Seneca lie tween Fourth and Emerald, for $26,- 500. Just before Council met tills afternoon the owners of the Fourth and Emerald plot, verbally offered to reduce the price for their plot to $26,- 000 or pay the thousand dollar paving assessment for Emerald stre'et.
