The only pronounced changes in the early stages of to-day's stock market were the specialties, Pittsburgh Coal, Pfd., advancing three pojnts, while Mexican Petroleum most an additional two oolnts. Leading issues were most ly lower, the Harrimans, Reading, New York Central, United States Steel and Copper receding fractionally. There was further selling of bonds for future delivery, Indicating a recurrence of foreign liquidation. Important stocks showed more steadiness at the end of the '-alf hour. Speculative favorites made some im provement after their initial decline, but tho market showed an undercur rent of caution throughout the early session. Specialties continued to be the conspicuous feature. Texas Com pany falling over four points. Declines of a point or two were recorded by American Sugar and Central Leather. Another severe decline In foreign ex change gave rise to renewed rumors re garding gold Imports. Heavy buying of the new Pennsylvania 4% per cent, bonds at advances over yesterday's quotations was an oset to the otherwise lower bond market. NEW YORK STOCKS Furnished by H. M.
