Rupp, at his home near Mechanicsburg, last May, are preparing to appeal the case to the Supreme Court and expect tha final decision to be made when that body convenes In January. It Is understood here that a num ber of Harrisburg men who have be come interested in the case are back ing the man in the attempt for a re versal of decision. Morgenthau's case is the second only of its kind in this county. A parallel is found in the case o.t' Auira Titus, who was triod in the W!1 of 1869 for the murder of a neighbor at his home in Southampton township. Titus pleaded guilty and, as In the present case, asked the court to deter mine the degree of crime. The sen tences in each case was death. The pipe which caught fire was the main supply of all the college build ings and as the pipe melted under the intense heat It formed a monster blow pipe, which burned directly against the celling and walls of the basement room in which it started. "BOYER DAY" AT HALIFAX Halifax. Pa., Dec. 16.—0n Monday evening the Halifax school board passed a resolution designating Feb ruary 25 as "Boyer day" in Halifax each year. This as the date upon which Mr. Boyer passed the money into Mr. Day's hands for the erection of the new school building. A copy of this resolution has been sent to the borough council and they will pass an ordinance calling for a general ob servance of the day.
