By Associated Press
New York, June 17. The stock mar
ket was freed at the beginning of trad
ing to-day from the pressure which
bore down quotations yesterday.
Transactions were smaller and aftor
half an hour's business the market
came almost to a halt. The small and
irregular fluctuations of American
stocks in London gave traders no lead.
The list held steady at the opening, but
later shaded off slightly. Lehigh Val
ley was especlaly heavy, losing nearly
a point. Western Union, which fell
back 1%, was the weakest stock in the
market.
