EUROPEAN SELLING
HOLDS BACK MARKETS
Some Low-priced Railroad Stocks and Speculative Bonds
Were Weak During W ek; Foreign Holders Disturbed
Now Tork, March 21. The firm un
dertone of the stock market this week
indicated that professional Belling; had
been carried to a sufficient extent to
bring about a strong technical position.
Some low-priced railroad stocks and
speculative bonds were weak, but the
representative securities moved nar
rowly.
European selling at times held back
the market. Foreign holders of railroad
securities were disturbed by the finan
cial difficulties of various systems, and
London was depressed by the Ulster
crisis. At home the speculative posi
tion -was changed In no important par
ticular. Filing of the anti-trust suit
against the Lehigh Valley inaiie only a
passing impression on the anthracite
stocks.
