Well sheltered animals, kindly treated,

the spring timo requires them to exert
their energies.
The horses should be freed from tho
cruelty to which they are too generally
sabjected, iu uncomfortable poorly light
cd, badly ventilated, and foul smelling.
Good exercise it is for the boys to give tho
noble animals frequent brushing ; aud it
is profitable work, too, for the horso is
not (like his master sometimes) forgetful of
kindness shown bin in bis time of need.
