saulted the General with a stick. Mr.
Bowman was sitting in a chair at tha tim.
Ono of tho Clerks effectively came to the
r'cscuo, when Mr. Schuablo mado a hasty
retreat. Immediate measures wcra taken
for his arrest.
Tlio roason for tho assault was an artiolo
published in tho Constitution of yesterday,
reflectant upon Mr. Schnablo's conduct.
