We have always found, that those who promptly and publii k noMfy their cus t oner, can best accotumnJatv their wants with choice Merchandize licmarkable points in Pennsylva nia Vototics, It is a lingular fact in the history of our State that precisely every fifth election for Governor ha$ resulted in the choke if a Federalist. The Democratic party has been successful in twenty gubernatorial contests out of twenty-four, or four out oi" each five. After the organization of parties Mifflin was twice elected, ana McKean twice, an a demo, erat. During the second term of the laltcr nara J gentleman, he u,mri elled with his party. The party repudiated him and nominated Simon Snyber a their candidate. JvIcKean wa taken up by the Federalists and elicftd. This was the first Federal Governor. After McKean retired the Democrats elected Siwukr three times and FimiLA? once. Then lliihTKR the Federal can didate was carried by a mull majority. Shtlze the Democratic caudidate succeeded Hf.iktkh by Hii overwhelming vole, lie was twice elected, and Woi.f his successor was also tw ice elected. Then came the fat administration of Kitnkb ; chosen bj a minority of the people in conse quence of a division in the Democratic party. Rit.mkr went nut in disgrace, and the Democrat elected Porter twice and Shunk twice. The unlucky period had ceine again, (hastened by Shunk' resignation,) and Johnson succeeded by a majority of a little less than three himdied votes. AU these Federal administrations have been failures gross, entire, total failures. In the cases of MKean, Heiater and Rilner, the powerful reaction of public opinion in favor of the Democracy is a sufficient proot of their pp ular condemnation. The tide is already rolling in against Johnston with equally resistable force. These administrations have been all alike in one respect ; they all disappointed their friends and verified the worst predictions of their enemies. But though generically similar, there are speei lic difference between them which serve to dis tinguish each from all the rest. McKemi's was the ablest; Heister's the moat harmless; Ritner's the mis ruinous ; and Johnston's the mint tim id. Federalism like every other evil thing, grow worse as it gets older, it has fallen a most iurui':iP'i height from M 'Keau to Johnston ! ! The Mate Sinking Fund.
