Medical and Surgical Journal chronicles a case
in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, where a child
was born without eyes. It was a healthy boy,
well developed in every other respect. There
were eylids, but no eyeballs.

FLOUR AND MEAL—Fresh ground flour
from new wheat sells at $7. Old stock and re
cently ground is firm at *0.75 a G,37;. sales
for home consumption at $7 a 7.50. Extra and
fancy brands aro selling $7,50 a 8 50. There
is little or no .export demand. Rye Flour is
worth $3.50, and Corn Meal is held at the same
price fn• strictly fresh ground Pennsylvania.
CRAlN.—Grain is dull and Tice; unchang
ed. Sales of 10.000 bus. new Southern and
Penn. red at $1,53 a 1.54, and 1,63 for white.
Rye is wanted ; sales of Pennsylvania at 75c.,
afloat. Corn is in fair demand, With sales of
prime yelloW at 66 a 67c. Oats are steady ;
sales of prime old Pennsylvania at 30 a 40c.,
and 37 a 30c. for new Delaware.
CATTLE MARKET.—The demand fin. Beef
Cattle during the past week has continued good,
and the quality of cattle sold has been very fair.
The arrival at Win. L. Torbert's Avenue Drove
Yard. amounted to 550 beeves, 4,600 sheep,
400 hogs, and 120 cows and calves. The,
beeves sold readily at from 89 to 89,50 and
$lO per 100 lbs. A few extra ones from Ohio
were sold by Mr. Van Leer for $10,50 per 100
lbs. Sheep were •in demand, and sales were
brisk at from $3 to $3,75 and 4,00 per head,
extra at $4,25. Stock sheep sold at from $2,-
60. to $2,75 per head. Good lambs brought
from $3 to 83,80. Tho majority of the sheep
4vere from Western Pennsylvania and Ohio.
dogs sold slowly at from $7,80 to 8,25 per 100
lbs. The sales of COWS and calves have been brisk
at from $25 to $5O per head, according to qual
ity. The total stock in market was I,ooo'
beeves ; 4,600 sheep ; 2,000 hogs, and 170
cows and calves-80 horses also arrived at Tor
bert's, and were selling at. good prices.
