July 25, Relative to an Amendment of the Constitution, Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General .desembly met, Thil.t. the Constitution of iliis Commonwealth be amended in the second secticiti of the fifth article so that it shall read as follows : The Judges of the Supreme Court, of the sever al Courts of Common Pleas, and of such other Courts of Record as are or shall be established by law, shall be elected by the qualified electors of the Commonwealth, in the manner following, to wit : The Judges of the Supreme Court, by the qualified elec tors of the Commonwealth at large ;, the Pre sident Judges of the several Courts of Com mon Pleas, and of such other Courts of Re cord as are or 'shall be established by law, and all other Judges required to be learned in the law, by the qualified electors ,of the pe resctive districts over which they_are_to. presi - de or act as Judges ; and the Associate Judges of the Courts of Common pleas by the qualified electors of the counties respec tively.
