the California regiment, arrived in this city •
unexpectedly, and had no public reception.
The, reception by the , city authorities was
given this morning, however. The retetumt.
of the fine regiment, under command of Rich
ard Penn Smith, marched to National Guard's
Hall, in. Raft street, where the Committee of
