LSE RECEPTION OF TILE PENNSICLVANIA. RE
SEIriE CORPS.—We are happy to announce
that Mayor Roumfort has taken hold-'of our
suggestions in reference to the reception of
the Reserve Corps, and that. His Honor is
moving in real earnest to make the 'arrival of
the remnant of that gallant body of men, at
once worthy of the, service which they have
rendered and in keeping with the character
of the State Capital. While MayOr Roumfort
is thus engaged, conferring with the State au
thorities and maturing his plans tor this re
ception, it would be well for the Fire Depart
ment to hold meetings of its respective or
ganizations, for the different civic societies to
do the same, for the mustered opt volunteer
now in the city, and for the military authori
ties to consult, and then refer the proceedings
to the Mayor, so that he may be able, in con
junction with committees to be appointed, to
fix the necessary arrangements-and secure the
reception in all proper ways of the Reserves.
On no consideration-must this welcome fail to
be extended. The Reserves deserve
welcomes; they have earned our largest.
gratitude, and are entitled to our unbounded
hospitality.
—Ag'Stpon. 89 the plan of proceedings.in the
reception 'to be extended on the arrival of the
Reserves hits been decided upon, it will of
course be made public through the columns
of the TELEGRAPH. •
