MILITARY FORCES OF P=ll-
'SYLVACT/A.
ALJVTAIIT GENZBAL ' S OFFICS,
Harrisburg, May 3, 1861.
To the Howe of Representatives of Pennsylvania:
In compliance with a resolution of your body,
I resepctfully submit the annexed : statements,
showing a list of the companies of the militia
of this State sworn into the service of the
United States, under the requisition of the
President; also, the number of companies not
accepted which have offered their services.
On account of the various channels through
which the tender of services has been made it
is feared that this information may not be as
full as it would have been if application had
been made in a more formal manner.
The companies mustered into service are all
armed, but not equipped, except in a few in
stances; uniforms and equipments for the entire
force are are being prepared with all possible
energy. E. M. Thrm; )
