Constipation or Costiveness.
No one of the "many ills flesh is heir to" is so preva
lent, so little understood, and so mush neglected as Cos
tiveness. Often originating in carelen mess, or seden
tarylabits; it is regarded as a slight disorder of two little
consequence to excite anxiety, while in, reality it is tho
precursor and companion of many of many of the most
fatal and dangerous diseases, and unless early eradica
ted :.it will bring the sufferer to an untimely grave.—
Among the lighter evils of which costiveness is theusual
attendant are Headache, Colic, Rheumatism, Foul Ereatn,
Piles and others of like nature, while a long train of
frightful diseases such as Malignant Fevers, Abcesses,
Dysentery, Diarrlices, Dyspepsy, Apoplexy, Epilepsy,
Paralysis, Hysteria, Hypoehondriuis, Melancholy sad
Insanity, first indicate their presence in the system by
this alarming symptom. Notonfrequently the diseases
named originate in Constipation, bat take on an inde
pendent existence unless the cause is eradicated in an
early stage. From all these considerations it follows that
the dis6rdgr should receive immediate attention when
ever it occurs, and no person should neglect to get a box
of Ceptudic Pills on the first appearance of the complaint,
as their timely use will expel the insiduous approach o
disease and destrey this dangerous fee to human life.

WORTHY OF ANY CONFIDENCE FOR
THE BALD AND GRAY]
MANY, since the great discovery of
Prof. Wood, have attempted not only to imitate
his restorative, but profess to have discovered something
that would produce results identical ; but they have all
come and gone, being carried away by the wonderful
results of Prot. Wood's preparation, and have been forced
to leave the field of its resistless sway. 'Read the follow-

Rues. O. J. Waco & Co.:—Gents :— the letter It wrote
you in 1856 concerning your valuable Hair Restorative,
and which you have published ie th incity and elsewhere,
has given rise to numerous enciciri.s touching the facts
to the case. %the enquiries are, first, is it a tact of my
habitation and name, as stated to the communicatki ;
second. is it true of all tht rein contained; third, does my
heir still continue to be in :good
.order and of natural
color ? To all I can and Ao answer , invariably. My hair
is even bitter than in anrstage of my the for 40 years
past, more soft, thrifty, and better colored; the same le
true of my whiskers, and the only cause aby it to not
generally true, is that the substance is washed off 'by
frequent ablution of the face, when if care were used by
wiping the face in close reeneetion with the whiskers,
the same result will follow as the hair. I have been in
the receipt of a great num tier of L tiers born. all parts of
New England, asking me if my hair still continues to be
good ; as there is so muck fraud in the manufacture a'S
sale of various compounds as 'well as this, it has, no
doubt been basely • imitated and . been nsed, not, only
withotil any good effect, but to absolute Injury. I have
not used any of your Restorative of any account for some
months, and yet:my hair is as good as ever, 'and hund
reds have examined it with surprise, as I am now 81
years old and not a gray hair in my bead or on my face;
and to prove lhis foot, I send you a lock of my hair taken
off the paid week. I received your fav or of two quart
bottles_ last summer, for etich lam ver grateful.. 4
gave fw my frie.nds and thereby induced them to try
it, many were skeptical until after trial, and then pur
chased and .used it with universal success. I will ask as
a favor, that pea send me a test by which I can discover
fraud in the Restorative; sold by 'many, I fear, without,
authority from you. A pure article will insure success.
and I believe ether° good-effects do not follow, the refiner
Is caused by the Impure article, which curses the invent
or of the good. I deem: it inYluty as heretofore, to keep
you apprised of the continued effect on my hair, as I as
sure all who enquire of me of my unshaken opinion of
its valuable results. I remain, dear sir, yours,

"'Prof. O. J. Wood: Dear Sir.—l would certainly be doing
you a great injustice not to make known to the world
the wonderful, as well as the unexpected result I have

The attention of Invalids, Phymmana, Olergymen ma;
addle men, and the public generally, is respectfully
solicited to the merits of this chemical preparation, con
taining Iron,Stelpharand Phosphorus, and which
is identical In its composition with the Heouthe Globtds,
or red blood. In all diseases accompanied with
pale countenance and nervous derangement, analysis of
the blood show a deficiency of the red globules. Ruddy
complexion and a rosy tint of the skin, le always Indies
tive of health ; while a pale, war-like akin and counts
nance,—which evinces a deficiency of the'red globules,—
accompanies a diseased organism. Preparation! of Iron
have been given for the purpose of supplying the red
globules, but we contend that Iron alone, Sulphur
alone, or Phosphorus alone, will not meet the defi
ciency in every case, but that 01341011 ms combination of
MI these elements Is necessary to restore the blebdto Its
normal standard. This point, never before attained, has
been reached in the Blood Food, and its discovery
rinks as one of the most scientific and important of the
age. Its effetts in
are to soften the cough, brace the neries, strengthen
the system, allay the prostrating night sweatsdnerame
the physical and mental energy, enrich the blood by_ re
storing the lacking red' globules, increase the appetite,
restore the color, and clothe the skeleton frame with
flesh. The Blood Food will be fonitd a speellic to all
