YOUNG, of Fourth street, laid on, our table this morning several bunches of grapes the like of which has never been exceeded, either in size of bunches, lusciousness, or flavor, by any of the boastal crrowers of Italy or France. Mr. Young makes uo pretensions in the busi ness of growing grapes. His vines scarcely re ceive the attention which they doserve, and yet his crop is, in all respects, unequalled, at least by any that we have yet seen or tasted. 502.1.61111NG WORM BECOMMENDIBO —Two music books, called "The Home Companion" and "The Welcome Guest," containing old" over two hundred vocal and instrumental pieces of the very best and choicest collections, (all late music,) which, when bought in sheet form, would cost fifty dollars, are now offered for sale at the low price of twenty-five cents each, at the music store of W. Q. m., was the recipient of a magnificent gold watch, presented to him by the employees of his command, at his rooms on Second street, below Market Square. The watch was presented in behalf of the donors, by Capt. Butterworth, who made some very plea sant and appropriated remarks. Capt. De Motto, who was considerably "taken down" at this unexpected mark of esteem on the part of his employees, accepted the gift, thanking them heartily for it. The watch bears the following inscription: "To Hark L. De Motte, Capt. and A. Q. M., by his employees. Harrisburg, Sept. 3, 1863." Capt Da Motto was a long time connected with the Army of the Potomac, where he proved himself a faithful officer, and in his present position he has maintained his reputation for properly discharging es%ry duty. MORE RAILROAD ACCIDENTS. —Yesterday morn ing a one-armed soldier named John M.'Cartney was instantly killed near the Lebanon Valley railroad depot in this city, by a shifting engine on one of the Pennsylvania railroad. tracks. His head was crushed, a leg cut off, and his entrails scattered along the track:' He was supposed to bo - iutexicated, and had been repeatedly warned of hie danger previous to the accident.• He belonged to Philadelphia. A day or two ago, as a train on the N. C. B. IL w a s coming Northward, a defective rail caused a passehier Car to " jump the track." It was thrown against a atone wall and considerahly damaged. Yes, their faces were wreathed in smiles, and they were apparently as hippy as if their leader, Judge Woodward, had been elected Governor of the State. You men, you mothers, fathers, wives and sweethearts of the gallant men who are fighting the battles of the Union under the brave Rosecrans, can you stand this? Can you hear them—some of whom are perhaps now lying stark and cold on the bloody field, or writhing in agony in the hospital— , can you hear them, we say, thus denounced'by a pack of cowardly scoundrels who:would Stand calmly by and see the throats of their own' brothets cut, if they could succeed in their unholy am bitions?
