Mariner, Consulting Chemists, Chicago, ail of whom have analyzed the Catawba Brandy, and com mend it in the highest terms, for medical use. i Analysu of the Maesaehutetft State Awayer, Janu ary 25, 1858. When evaporated through clean l|nen it left no oil or offensive matter. In every respect it is a pure spirituous liquor. The Oil which gives to this Bran dy its flavor and aroma, is wholly unlike fusil or gram oil. Its odor partakes of both the fruit and oil of grape?. With acids, it produces ethers of a high fragrance. The substitution of this Brandy for Cog nac Brandy will, do away with the manufacture ot fictitious spirits, sold under this name both at home and abroad. Respectfully, * A. A. HATES, M. D., Assajer to State Mass., 1(5 Boyleston St. By the tame, in 1864. I have analyzed “L. LYONS’ PURE CATAWBA BRANDT,” with reference to its composifiWand chararter, being the same as that produced in past •years. A sample taken from tea casks afforded the same results with regard to purity; a slightly in creased amount of the principle on which iti flavor depends was determined by comparison with former samples. ( The indications of analysis show that this Brandy is produced by the same process as most of the im ported Brandy. Respectfully, A. A.
