A BOXANTIO STOW', Upwards of 110 years ago, says the Liverpool, England, Mercury, a marriage twk plate in this neigh borhood, the man and wife being in humble circumstances. After living together till after the birth of a child, the husband went to Aus tralia to seek hie fortune. His wife never heard from him after he left her, and, supposing be was dead, on the lapse of seven years she mar ried a widower with three children. To this number in her second mar ried life she added five, making her whole family, including the child by her first husband, nine in all. Some time since the second husband died, and she was left to struggle with her large family. To her great surprise, at the beginning of the present year her first hus— band made his appearance at Liv erpool. During his 30 year's ab sence he had prospered in Austra lia, and was a large landed proprie tor there. He had heard of his wife's second marriage, but as tTie fault was his, he never thought of return ing co England until he heard of the death of the second husband. To make amends for his former neglect of his wife—for notwithstanding her second marriage, she was still his wife—he behaved in the most handsome manner to all her chil dren, gave them costly outfits, and has taken them and the wife of his early affections out with him to the land of his adoption. The wife, who has thus, after an abseenee of more than thirty years, been restored to her position, is now about seventy years of age. rTom is a bright little boy, and very much attached to his n.other The other day his father came home in a bad humor, and was scolding and finding fault with things gen erally. Little Tom sat and listened until be thought it tecessary to in terfere in behalfof his mother, when looking up at his father, he said, in a very decided tone : yeu .did not like her ways, What did you marry her for ?" I need scarcely add that the Weather cleared up at once, and the storm was over. bar Brigham Young boasts be can see more gold and silver from the door of his house than would equal the whole currency of the world.— These mines are not allowed to be opened.
