“wolgritultural, Our °reed, We believe in small farms and thor ough eultiaillio* We tiEleVe trtii'soil loves to cat, as its owner, and ought, therefore, to be manured. We believe in large crops which leave the iforoi better than they found it--making both the farmer and the farm rich at once. We believe in going to the bottom of things, and, therefore, in deep plowing, and enough of it. All the better if with a subsoil plow. We believe that every farm should own a good farmer. We believe that the best fertiliser Amy LOU, is a spirit of industry, enttrprise and intelligence—without this; lime and gypsum, bones and green manure, marl and guano will be of little use. We believe in good fences, good barns, good farm-houses, good stock, good orchards, and children enough to gather the fruit. We'believe in "a clean kitchen, a neat wife in it,a spinning-piano, a clean cupboard, a clean diary, and a clean conscience. We firmly disbelieve in farmers that will not improve; in farms that grow poorer every year; in starve ling cattle ; in farmers' boys turning into clerks and merchants; in farm ers' daughters unwilling to work, and in all farness ashamed of their vocation. The 'neat Deficiency in Dugland, It is estimated that the amount re quired to supply the deficiency of the last wheat harvest in Great Britain wa5 . 65,000,000 bushels, of which 40,- 000,000 have yet to be supplied.— France is estimated to have been de ficient 80,000,000 bushels, of which she lias received from abroad say 32,000,- 000, leaving a demand for about 48,- 000,000 more. A large portion of the required supply must come from America, and hence there will proba bly be an active demand for our sur plus, which will keep up prices, and prevent the balance of trade turning against us, and the consequent export of specie. Bedford county In April, 1856, as near as I can remember, a smolt pimple made its appearance on my upper hp, whieh soon became enlarged and sore. I used poultices of sorrel, and a wash of blue vitriol, without effect.— Finding the sore extending, I called on Dr. Ely, of Schelisburg, who pronounced it CANCER., and pre scribed a wash of sugar of lead and bread poultices. Finding these retmalies of no avail, I called upon Dr. Sliatiiir, of Davidsville, Somerset county, who also pronounced the disease Cancer, and gave me internal and external remedies—the latter consisting principally of caustic; but all to 110 purpose as the disease con tinued spreading toward the nose. I next used a prep aration of arsenic, in the form of salve. This for a time checked the disease, but the indentation soon in f. eased. 1 called upon Dr. Snider, of St. Clairsville, Bedford county, who also pronounced the disease Can cer, and applied a salve s oid to be a never failing rem edy, but it had no effect whatever in checking the spread of the sore. In December in the same year, the disease bad eaten away a greater pan of my upper lip, and had attacked the nose, When I went to Cincinnati where I consulted Prof R. S. Newton, of the Eclectic Medical College. He pronounced the disease "a cu taneous Cancer, superinduced by an inordinate use of mercury." Ile applied mild zinc ointment, and gave tne internal remedies. My face healed up, but the in flammation was not thoroughly removed. In February, 1857, he pronounced me cured, and I left fur home. In April the disease again returned, and so violent was the pain that I count not rest at night. Late in May , I returned to Cincinnati, and again placed myself under the charge of Dr. Newton. with whom I remained un til September. during which time he used every known remedy, and partly succeeded in checking the diseaie, but when I returned home there were still three dis charging ulcers upon my Mee. I continued using New ton's preparations, and also medicine that I got from Dr. Ely, butthe Cancer continued growing until it had eat off the left side of my nose, the greater portion of my left check, aad had attacked my left eye. I bad given up all hope of ever being cured, since Dr. Ely said he could only give relief, but that a cure was impossible In March, 1858, I bought a bottle of "Blood Searcher;" but I 111 USC confess that I had 00 faith in it. I was Very weak when I commenced taking it; but I found that I gained strength day by day, and also that the ulcers commenced drying up. I continued, and when the third bottle was taken, toy face was healed al if by a miracle. I used the fourth bottle, and I have been healthier since than 1 have been fur the last seven years. Uthottgh my face is sadly disfigured, I am still grateful tlra benign Providence who has spared my life, and which has been done through the instrumentality of LINDREI IMPROVED BLOOD SEARCHER. A BAD SORE LEO CURED.—Pittsburgh., September 18, 1861-1 hereby certify that I have had a sore leg for over a year. It was covered with ulcers and sores so that I could not work for nearly a year. My leg swell ed so that I was unable to do anything for a long time; for at least six months. I was in the care of both our eminent physicians for a long time, but they could do nothing to effect a cure or ease my pain. My feet and legs became very much swollen, and having heard of your Blood Searcher (although I had very little faith in it), I was induced by Messrs. Alexander & Son, agents at this place, to try it. I had not used one bottle before I begau to find immediate relief. I tried another, and am now able to walk about without crutches. I have tried other patent medicines, but received no benefit.
