Butler, Pa., Feb. 1. The Pittsburg. Butler, Slippery Rock and Grove City Railway company -was organized by Butler and Slippery Rock capitalists to construct a trolley line between here and Slippery Rock, a distance of 20 miles. Application for a charter will be mr.de'at onse. The directors are Attorney W. C. Thompson, J. A. Smith, Dr. W. C. McCandless and Alf M.ilelber of Butler and John C. Kerr of Slippery Rock. .Mr. Thompson is president. Mr. Smith secretary and Dr. McCandless treasurer. F. E. Bar rett, a Pittsburg engineer, has been employed to make final surveys and the exact route will be selected In February, Conectlons will be made with the Pittsburg and Butler and the Pitts burp. Harmony, Butler and New Cas tle linos at Butler, and with the pro posed Slippery Rock and Grove City trolley line, contracts for the con struction of which will bo let in March. The road will likely go by way of Prospect and West Liberty. With thij link constructed Grove City will be connected with Pittsburg by trolley. Plans are under way for a lino from Grove City to Greenville and on to Meadville, where connection will be made with the Meadville-Conneaut Lake lines, making a continuous troi ley system between Bulfalo and Pitts burg. As train No. 9, bound for Chicago neared tho end of the Pittsburg di vision point at Creetline an automo bile, In which Slulor, Echelherger and Poorer were riding pulled onto the tracks after an Aeastbound freight train had passedd was struck hy the passenger train. The machine was wrecked and two of Its occupants were hurled .o the middle of the tracks, where their bodies were ter ribly mangled. Poorer Was carried with the wrecked automobile: At Lucas Mr. and Mrs. Colvert, who had left their home to visit a neigh bor, were walking on tho tracks when a freight train struck them.
