By an explosion of gas at Chandler's Valley, Warren county, Wednesday morning, fifteen persons wore burned, many of them seriously. A well was shot and when a vast volume of gas came pouring from tho casing head one man was fool enough to light a match to see if it really was gas. He ascertained the fact that it was very quickly. The bill limits the amount of gam o to be killed by one person in ono day to 10 woodcocks, 10 pheasants, 15 quail and 2 wild turkeys. But two deer may be killed in a season by one person. The oponing season for wood cock is in July, and also October 12 to December 15 ; rabbits same : pheasants October 15 ; squirrels nine. No game cau bo Killed for shipment outside, the state. No in-ectiverous birds can be killed for millinery purposo, but only for scientific burposes. A distressing accident occurred at Amsler's Mill, Jenks township, last Saturday, which resulted in the death of Wm. Kramer. In some manner a board caught on the edger saw aud tho momen tum of the saw throw tho board with such force that it struck Mr. Kramer in the abdomen, knocking him a distance of about sixteen feet. Everything that medical skill could devise was done for tho unfortunate man, but it was of no avail and he died alumt six hours alter being hurt. Ho was a married niiju and leaves a wife and three children to mourn his death. John H. Palmer, an old and well known driller, contractor aud oil pro ducer of Yidiouto committed suicide by drowning himself in a tank of oil in Limestone township, opposite Tidioute, ou Monday. His mind had been affected for a number of years and he was at one time confined in tho Warren asylum. During the palmy days of Bradford "Judgo" Pulnier, as he was familiarly known, was a very heavy producer and worth considerable money, but lie wet with financial reverses and was ruined, and tliis, it is supposed, unbalanced his miud. In this State are four homes main tained by the Odd Fellows foraged mem bers and orphan children. The one at Meadville contains 14 children and two aged members, and four other children will soon bo admitted. Tho littlo ones are sent to school and every care taken to raise them properly and give them a good home. No fairer monuments than thoso homes could be erected to the glory of any ordor. Richards, of Tionosia, were married at high noon Thursday at the home of the bride's parents. Tho ceremony which was performed by Rov. Wm. T. C. Han na pastor of the First Baptist church, was witnossod by none but relatives and im mediate friends. At the conclusion of the ceremony an olegmt marriage dinner was served and at 3:15 Mr. and Mrs. Richards loft for a tour of he lakes. On their return they will visit relatives at Cleveland, Marietta and Pittsburg. After an absenco of a fortnight they will take up their residence at Tionesta, where the groom has a cottage handsomely furnish ed for his brido. Although their marri age was known only among intimate frionds the bride received a number of beautiful presents, testimonials of the love and estoein In which she is held by all who knew her. She is one of the pop ular young women of Bradford and a host of frionds will unite in extending con gratulations and best wishes. The groom Is a well known and highly respected young man of Tionesta and enjoys a lucrative position as general manager of the Tionesta Gas Company. Bradford Record. Death ot Mrs. (Jco. Raah. Mrs. Geo. Raab died at her residence on Vino street, Tuesday morning, May 25, 1S97, alter an illness of thirteen months duration. She was born In Mill street, County Cork, Ireland, on the 4th day of October, 1800, and was conse quently 3d years, 5 months and 2f days old. Besides a husband and six children she leaves three brothers, namely : Andy and John Moynchan of Oil City, and Daniel Moyuehan of Siverloy ville, Pa. The re mains will be taken to Oil City, to-day, for interment, and funeral services will be conducted by Rov. Father Carroll in St. Joseph's church. Mrs. Raab has been well known here for the past fourteen years and sho has always been hold in the highest esteem by hor noighbors and acquaintances. She was of an amiable disposition aud a wo man who would make friends wherevor she wont, a faithful wife and a loving mother, aud the loved and loving ones who are left to mourn her loss have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire com in unity.
