Oil ( II) llosplllll. Eiiitoh IlKi-mm-Af While hero In tho liopitul il occurred lo tne that somo of our townsmen or county people, who are sull'cicrs from maladies of different kinds, might 1)0 in terested in knowing something of the workings ami treatment nf thin institu tion. It Is located on what is known as Cottage Hill, aliout a milo from the depot and dost and din of tho city. Sur rounded liy a grove, with walks and drives from llio street to the building. Tho building is three stories high and of the most modern archecturo. The lower story Is nf hrick, the oilier two of wood, with niHiiy alcoves and verandas, to udd to its beauty. The Interior is laid out in wards of which there are quite a num ber. The interior finish Is of yellow or Norway pine, with oil and varnish llnislij the rooms and wards are largo, light and well ventilated, and furnished with beds of uniform si.o and appearance. In go ing through the wards, one can hardly refrain from feigning sickness, Just to get a chance to stretch themselves upon one of theso couches, they are so clean, neat nud fresh looking, with their snowy counterpanes and pillows. Too much praise cannot be given to the matron, Miss A. M. Maepherson from riuffalo, with her corps of trained nurses, all dressed in bluo dresses with snowy aprons and ncckcrcliicvi s of the same color, and nn immaculate little cap adorns tho head of each. They are on tho alort all hours of the day and night, (lilting here and there, ministering to tho whims and wants of the sufferers. The doctors in Gil City all patronize this grand institution, and harmony prevails all through the building. Oil City should take great pride in the great work that Is going on here. Of tho cures that have been effected here, Forest County has had ten, some of our most prominent citizens having been here, and can testify of tho quality of work being done. Thoro is no need of anybody going to larger cities for hospi tal treatment, as the physicians here rank among the very best in ihe country, and the rates aro low. Tho nearness of this institution is a great convenience to our County, and it is deserving of our pat ronage. The only objection I have is that they treat one so well that they feel reluctant to leave, oven after conva lcsencc. There are quite a number here at present. This hospital Is for the treat ment nil uilmciits to which the body Is subject, the euros are permanent. Pat ronize houio industry at all times is my motto. 11. II. SlIOK.MAKl-.K. School Kepurts. He always made his own fishing tools and it seldom took him more than throe days 011 a w el. to re move the toois. He always irouiuaudud fabulous prices for his services and In more than one instance ho was paid as high as $1000 lor a single job. 11 is early history would till several volumes and would luako interesting reading.
