A Correction, An omission occurred in the, list of voting places as published last week, which is this week supplied. Brook stoo, in Howe township, was inadver tantly dropped out. The error was our owo. When will Pennsylvania have a day at the big fair, and who is goiog to settle this matter? The Governor's approval of the smaller charity appropriations meets with the approval of the people. The Governor approved over one hundred appropriation bills on the last day of the legislative eessiou. This was quite an event for Governor PattUon, and those institutions and localities which are benefitted by the appropriations are giving hitn a good deal of taffy for his generosity. The Republican primaries will be held a week from next Saturday, 17tb iost. The canvass thus far has been quiet, orderly and honorable, and we believe it will continue so to the end. Every Republican should turn out and vote for his choice. And then every candidate should be satis fied with the result. Governor Flower, of New York, has been to the World's Fair and af ter be looked over the wauders of the white city he went back to bis hotel and talked, saying: "That fair is good fur the blues, I can hardly say enough praise of it. I hope that the peoplo in the East, and particularly in New York will come to Chicago this year instead of going to Europe. If they do this, and I believe they will, they will see by far more things of beauty and interest than they would in Europe." The good old Governor should give this hint to the New York newspapers that have been abusing the fair ever since it started. The great fair is an object lesson, aud those who miss tieeiug it will uiios the greatest event of their lives. The features of the amendments to the Baker ballot law, as passed in the lust hours of the legislature, are as follows: The group markings are abolished and instead ouo mark in a large circle at the top of the ticket will vote the whole ticket. The sec lion ameuded in regard to as sistance now reads: "If any voter declares to the judge of election that by reason of any disa bility be desires assistance iu the preparation of his ballot, he shall be permitted by the judge of election to select a qualified voter of the election district tu aid him." The other amendments are those which have been popularly demanded, changing the time for filiog objections, certify ing official ballots, reducing; the ex peuse of printing and distributing tickets, aud decreasing the percent ape of votes to entitle minority par ties lo party column on the ticket.
