There is a quarter in New York called "Hell's Kitchen" and it is the headquarters of the Eleventh Con gressional District Tariff Reform Club. Protection would be as useless to them as Jim Fisk's cemetery fence. He said there was no need of it, for no body wished to get in and those who were in could not get out. We have never doubted where the tariff reform '. era would bring up at last. Home ket Bulletin. V - The McKioley bill was signed on the 1st of October, 1890, the first day of the last quarter of the year. Shef field, Eoglaod's great cutlery manu facturing center, had exported 47, 000 worth of cutlery during the third quarter of the year. The MsKinley bill knocked Sheffield's cutlery exports in the last quarter of the year to 28,000. thus transferring $228,954 worth of trade to this country. New York Press. The attention of American "tariff reformers" is called to the fact that the English manufacturers of bioding twine have formed a trust to advance prices to the full extent of the reduc tion in the American duty. This is the same course pursued by the Eng lish tin plate men when the House sed the Mills bill. It throws some interesting light on the vexed question of who pays the duty.
