John Case will ' be present Everyone cordially invited. The old saw, "as the day lengthens tbe cold strengthens," doesn't seem to be getting there to any very exteutdve extent, aod tbe mud stays just as deep, and the atmosphere remains just as salubrious as it has been all sum winter. The "grip" has not gripped many of our citizens as yet, but a number bave had "somethin or 'nuther" ail ing them, aud have about concluded it was that which had hold uf 'em. Tbe disease is said to be nbatiog in some portions. Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Our neighboring town of Nebras ka is pulling ou considerable airs of late. Besides the introduction of natural gas, which is now being ac complished, tbe place is to be connect ed with the outside world by a tele graph line, the poles for which having been set last week as far as this placo. In view of his mental and bodily activity, after so long career of mccesani devotion to mo tasks of his callinc. Mr. Hilands comes nearer tban any of our local celebrities to a claim on Gladstone's appellation, the Grand Old Man. He is active at an ago when most men pass their time in coddling their pet ailments and dreaming over the past Franklin Xewt. We Cod this pleasant reference to au old friend of the Republican, in last week's Kittanning Free-Press, and will take the liberty to add that the longer Mr. Groves' frieuds know him the better they'll liko him: "Christ mas Day, we learu, was a day of pres ents at Ford City. Those interested should note the date. It is sad to thiuk that Nebuchad- uczzar after his gay life had to go to grass, but sadder the thought that so many meu of promise aud ability find early graves by carelessness in not checking a cold iu its early stages by the use of Dr. Bull's Cough Syrup.
