The Return Judges of the Beveral election precincts selected at the He publican Primaries on Saturday, June 25, 1887, met in tbe Court House, Tionesta, Pa., yesterday at 2 o'clock, in pursuance of the Rules governing Republican Primary Elections. Chair man C. M. Shawkey called the con vention to order and stated that the first thing in order would be tbe elec tion of Secretaries. P. M. Clark and II, C. Whittekin were elected Account ing Secretaries, and Wn). Briggs, Re cording Secretary. The Chairman then called the roll of precincts when the following Return Judges respond ed: Barnett, Maze's John II. White. Barnett, RedclyfTe Lester Warner. Green, Guiton's R. W. Russell. The sealed Returns were then opened and computed, when it waB found the following candidates bad received the highest number of votes, and were duly declared the nominees of the Re publican party : Protbonotary, Register, Recorder and Clerk of the Courts, Calvin M. Arner. Sheriff, George W. Sawyer. Commissioners, J. J. Parsons, and C. F. Ledebur. Auditors, R. Z. Gillespie, and E. L. Jones. Jury Commissioner, C. II. Church. Delegate to tbe Republican State Convention, J. E. Wenk. The next business in order was the election of a Chairman of the Repub ncan uonnty uommittee. lne names of C. M. Shawkey and E. L. Davis were presented. Mr. Davis asked to be excused, and bis name was with drawn, when the Convention paid Mr Shawkey the high compliment of unanimous re-election. The matter of State candidates was mentioned, but the desire of some of tbe delegates to get away on tbe o'clock traia cut the discussions short; there was however, entire unanimity of feeling in favor of the candidacy f Hon. Henry Brace of Warren, for State Treasurer, in the event of that office coming to the Western end the btate, oi wnicn there is a reasona ble probability, and in which case Mr, IJrace s chances lor nomination are in tbe lead of any other. Throughout, the convention was one of the most harmonious ever held in tbe county, and there was an entire absence of bad feeliDg or disappoint ment on the part of the defeated can didates or their friends, which augers well for tbe success of the ticket in the fall. The ticket as nominated is conceded on all fiiJes to be an excep tionally strong one, and of its triumph with a booming majority there isn't tbe shadow of a doubt. We have not the time to iudividualize at this writ iog, but will attend to tbat as the campaign progresses. THE NEW COUNTY COMMITTEE. Barnett John H. White, Joseph Hall. J. B. WENK, PRECINCTS. Will Endicott take it? There! The President hasn't for gotten Pennsylvania. He has ap pointed James Sheakley, of Mercer county, to be commissioner for tbe District of Alaska, to reside at Wran gel. It is not very much, you know. But even a crumb dropped now and then is evidence that he knows of the State's existence. The Republicans of Mercer county nominated the following ticket at their primaries on Tuesday of last week : Sheriff, W. A. Kreps ; Prothonotary, B. J. Haywood ; Clerk of Courts, D. R. Few persons realize how thoroughly they are controlled by prejudice even to their own disadvantage. For many years the treatment of rheumatism, neuralgia, sciatica and headache has been by some outward application, and. therefore, with out stopping to think that the origin of these troubles must, from necessity, be in ternal, the weary sufferer continues to rub, rub and find no relief. Ath lophoros is taken internally, and as a proof that this is tho correct principle, it cures surely and quick ly. The statement of those who halt been cured ought to convince the incredulous. C. F. Bruce, Metuchen, N. J., says : " My mother had the rheumatism in her heart, and was cured by Ath lophoros. She says there is no medicine like it." James W, Reed, 4638 Penn Ave., Pitts burgh, Pa., 4ays : " My mother, although 77 years of age, was entirely cured by the use of Athlophoros." Miss Carrie Patten, Eagle Village, N. Y., says : " My mother was nearly a cripple in her arms, not having been abl to dress nor scarcely able to feed herself for three months, being in severe pain most of the time. The acute pain ceased after taking three bottles of Athlophoros, but she con tinued to take it until all signs of rheuma tism were gone ; having taken 27 bottles in all. She has not taken any since last May, and can use her arms as well as ever. A Dumber of friends have taken it, and in every case it has given satisfaction. In case of sick headache, it gives almost immediate relief." John M. Wolcott, Piflard, N. Y., says: " I got a bottle of Athlophoros for a friend. She at once gained rapidly, and has not been troubled with the rheumatism since."
