Every person who fails to pay a state or county tax within two years previous to November 3, 1885, and at least thirty days prior to that date, will be unable to vote at the coming election. Don't forget it. Young men who voted on age last year should give this matter special attention. Members of the Republican Commit tea in each district should see that all Republicans are qualified to vote by the payment of taxes. Mr. Quay Will be Elected. The hopes of success indulged in by the Democrats, which are based upon their pretence that the Republicans are deserting Mr. Quay, will turn to ashes in their teeth when the votes are counted. They will be like Mr. Hen eel's promises of last year. There are no factions in the Republican party this year, and Mr. Quay was nominat ed with a unanimity that shows that he really was the choice of the Repub lican people of the State. Mr. Quay is identified with whatever of success the Republican party has achieved in the long years in which it has con trolled the State. If Republican management in the State has been of a character that the people should condemn Mr. Quay may bo beaten, sot otherwise. There are no Republi cans 01 intiuence tnis year who are making a war for control of the party, and very few sore heads, dissatisfied with what the party has done. These latter have long since gone where they belong, and are counted with the par ty they voted with last year. As their influence does not extend beyond their own votes, their passing as inter viewed Republicans in the douch-face or mugwump press, is regarded in this BuCkCYC FOTCO Plimi) Cu.a- . Gov., positively declines the little bit of sop thrown bim. It leaves a bad hole in the tick et which will be hard to patch up. The Republicans of New York Dominated the strongest ticket placed before the voters of that State for years on Wednesday last. It is as follows: Governor, Ira Davenport; Lieut. Gov., General Joseph B. Carr; . Secretary of State, Anton 8. Wood Comptroller, James W. Wadswortb; Treasurer, Charles F. Ulrich ; Attor mey General, Edward B. Thomas; '. Engmeer and Surveyor, Wm. P. Von . Rensselaer. The nominations and pianorm are m ciose accord, going straight to the purpose throughout. The platform contains no claptrap or eubterfuges, but is the expression of Republican faith and opinion upon vital issues, and the men who stand ou the platform illustrate it in their lives and characters. All iu all, they are fairly illustrative of the men and principles which have lifted the natiou from ruin to puisant triumph. It will be well for New York if her people prove by their votes that thev have not become unworthy of them. il Itl g n I E CO B m IE o i 3 1MB a a; "OANDEE" Rubber R 0 1 ! with DOUBLE THICK BALL.
