Tiuiip. oIl notes; Oil mntters have been rather quiet in l orehl county during the past week. Tho Derrick yesterday morning con tained tho following report fresh from the upper end of the county: Syndicate No. 2, on tho Cooper tract, va3 drilled deeper to-day, aud this afternoon was making eighteen barrels an hour. Heme!; No. 3 was flowing at the rate of 300 barrels to-day. Reno No. 4 was in the sand this forenoon aud showing fcr a 125 barrel well. Its locatiou is west of No. 3. It is doubtful if Welsh's No. 2, or the B,illt'iwn Oi! Co.'a No. 7 can be completed this week. They are work ing slowly at them. The Dutch Oil Co.'s well on 4,821 is on lop of the sand, and may be com pleted any time. It is located a little south of the line between tbe Porcupine No. 1 and the Grandiu No. 3, and from its situation a good well may be anticipated. The well was ut first lo cated to be ou tho Porcupiue lease, but a later survey showed it wns over the line on the Balltown Oil Co.'s pioperty. Porcupine Oil Company have four rigs up on 3,194. One of these is lo cated 1,200 fet south of the Gartlan well, aud on the sixty-two degree line. This will be drilled, but the others will not until Mr. Murphy is better satis fied with the prospects of the territory Reliable parties report tjiat the Hoodoo Oil Company's well, on tract 3,668, Forest Ceunty, is completed and dry. Tbe only showing of oil was obtained in a sand at a level of the Cherry Grove rock. There was a small amount cf oil ia it, aud the well mil probably be shot at that point before being abandoned. This failure leaves only four wildcat wells in tbe middle fiold. These ae Vaudergrift & Miller's, on lot 740, Warren county ; Kepler & Dufur's, near Salmon crek; Henry Whituey's on Tubbs Run, corth of Tiouesta, aud Tionesta Oil Company's at Brace's Mills, between Hickory and Balltown. There has been no time for two years when there were ao few wildcat drill ing wells as now. Numerous failures in Forest cov.nty have disgusted tho wilcat operator, and he scarcely knows where to start the drill. The preduction of tho Cooper truct yesterday from sixty-three wells was 4,632 barrels. The production of the thirteen producing wells at Balltown is 1,146 barrels. The Cooper tract production includes that of the now ells, Syndicate No. 1 aud Herrick No. 3, besides the increase caused by the use of nitro-glyceriue in the Reno ISO. 1, and the Patterson No. 3. COURT MINUTES. Court lasted but one day this week, all of tbe cases being continued, ex cept two, which were disposed of as follows : Thomas Nugent v. C. J. Harris; settled.
