No change has as yet taken Our county ticket proper is victo rious, with but one exception.. We have at least our usual Republican majority on the State ticket, and our ranks have been unbroken by the fierce assaults of our old-time foe, aid ed by the Greenbackers. ' A great many Republicans have done good and faithful work to accomplish this result, but we believe all will agree with us n giving to our Chairman, E. L. Da vis Esq., the credit of conducting the campaign in tho county in a manner which has never been excelled, if equalled. by any of his predecessors. To his untiring efforts, hard work and unceasing energy is due the organiza tion of our forces for the fray, and we will not be chary in giving praise where it is due. The Republican par ty of Forest couaty owe Mr. Davis a debt of gratitude for Jus faithful work, and in the name of. the party we thank him. Our woods seem to be favorable for ruffed grouse, but unfavorable for hunters, the underbrush they frequent being so thick that no sooner do you get a glimpse of the bird than he dis appears behind some shrubbery. But let any one, without a gun, travel any road leading out of Tionesta, and he will hardly go three miles until he will have seen from six to ten good shots, such as he never gets when he carries his breech-loader. The squirrels have principally emigrated to the beech woods, where we her they are quite numerous The Nursery for November has arrived.
