About four hundred red squirrels bit the dust on Saturday. Nearly every man in the hunt was on Old town Flats during the day. Kelly's com will be comparatively safe this fall and winter. From a communication' received from the Secretary of the Hayes and Wheeler Club, of Fagunda?, we have the following particulars of that or ganization : . . ' ' " . The Republicans of Fagundas met nt their hall on Tuesday evening, Sept. lz, Iptb, and organized a Hayes and Wheeler Club. The meeting was call ed to order by Peter Berry, aud the following oltiucrs were chosen : Presi dent, Royal E. Scott; Vice Presidents, Isaac Jones, J. S. Ramsey ; Secretary, Henry Wilkins; Corresponding Sec'y, C. C. Moriau ; Treasurer, H. T. Mo rian. At the time of writing the above, on Wednesday last, there were forty-six members enrolled, snd the number is probably largely increased by this time. A Hayes and Wheeler pole. one hundred feel high, was raised at FagunJas yesterday, nnd a Republican meeting, to be addressed by Gen. II. Allen, and W. M. Liudsey, Esq., of Warren, Chas. W. Mackey, Esq., of Franklin, II. C. Beach, Esq., of Tidi oute, and others. We go to press too early to give a report of this meeting, but have no doubt that it was a suc cess in every particular. Tho rains of the past few days raised the river sufficiently so that quite an amount of lumber was run out, and a few Alleghenies have gone down tho river from here and some from above. A number of Derickson & Co.'s stave bolts were run down the creek, and the mill will start up soon. A few cords were lost, but not near ns many as . was first feared. One of Dithridge's pieces went afloat, from some carelessness iu tying it. We pre sume it was caught below. The mon ey that comes back from this rise will not cause a resumption of the flush times known here when lumber sold at good figures. The Associated Press dispatches of yesterday tell of another riot, this time in South Caroliua, in which, as usual, the negroes wero the aggressors. The Associated Press agent, however, gives tho list of killed and wounded, which is a3 follows: Six'negroea kill ed and one white man wounded. The white man probably bumped his head against a treo wftile running after an aggressivo negro. Last Notice i My accounts aro now in the hands of M. W. Tate and W. E.
