The deceased was the daughter of
William and Jane Siggins, both of
honored and precious memory, aud be
side whom she now sleeps in the fami
ly burying-ground. Florence was a
true, kind and brave girl. She delight
ed i,i making herself useful to others
and her presence was esteemed a bless
ing and a joy iu every circle in w hich
she moved. Truly, can I write, none
know her but to love, none named her
but to praise. Educated to honor the
Word of God, and dedicated to God
iu infancy, iu the Ordinence of bap
tism by Christian patents, always cor
rect iu her moral deportment, she con
fessed Jesus and left 1'im to be her
Savior and meekly said "aH is well."
It cheers our heart to think that she
left a strong testimony that she has
gone to ho with Christ which Paul
said was "far better." A victim of
that most treacherous disease, con
sumptiun, she did not think that death
was so near at hand until a short time
before her departure. Our eyes are
dimmed with tears as yo yew this
wreck of beauty, excellency, and of
bright promise, and may kind heaven
givo the stricken ones grace to bow
eubmissively l this mysterious disten
tion of His Wise Providence. Hex
earthly record was as costly ointment
poured forth, and while the casket of
liersweet spirit was being spoiled and
vexed with disease, Florence djd not
murmur. Doubtless, ''dear Florence"
is now dwelling in a purer clime, and
singing in a heavenly choir.
