In l.i-t week's Herald it is said of certain " well prepared and able paiiers," one by Rev. J. V. Kubltnan on ' Proer Subjects of Daptism," and the other by Rev. J. H. Pimm Yooix. Somerset, Da., May -0, 1SS1. What or the Day Is Rapidly Becom ing the Universal (Jcery in Connection with the Reitblicas Convention in Chi caoo. As June draws near the interest in the Republican National Convention in creases, and the almost universal query is "Who is going to be nominate,! at Chica go'.''' A few weeks will tell, but meantime all who can pet away are going, the remark ably low rate made over its entire system by the B. A . meeting with great favor and a general desire to profit by it. To know us to details, when tickets go on sale and how long to be good for the return trip, and such like information, is naturally much sought after, and here it is: Round trip tickets at one-half the regular fare for the round trip, will go on sale at all stations on the Balti more and Ohio main line, divisions and branches, on Thursday, May 2!th, and will be sold thence any day up to and including Monday, June 2d. The convention meets June .Id. For the return trip the tickets will be good at any time, on or after June :ld. until Friday, June Pith, or the week following convention week. Tlii" is a most liU-ra! limit upon the tick ets, and one which, cannet but again prove to all, interested, that the B. O. is always to be counted upon for meeting the require ments of every occasion. Not only in rates has the solid old Company come to the front w ith unexampled vim and vigor, but in everything which can add to the comfort and convenience of those attending the con vention. Willi ii enormous facilities in the way of equipment, almost no end of cars and trains can be provided and when it comes to motive power, the fast runners are right at home on one of the finest track systems out of doors. The R. A O. depot in Chicago is soexeecd ingiy handy to the convention building practically next door that no road in the city ca:l equal it in point of accessibility. Another great advantage lies in the fact that the 1! .V has its own depot used exclusive Iv for its own trains. When the time for arture comes after the convention pro- CWM,in are at an emi, ,i,cre is inevitably a rush to the depots. In such depots where there are various roads, one can readily im agine the confusion which must exist and the consequent risk of getting ujon wrong i trains. Nothing of this kind can occur at the B. & 0. depot, where the platforms are ; spacious and where there is no crowding and lainitiing lo jri'i uipjuu iui,o jiaiw a,,', being shoved back with the discouraging announcement that it is "not your train." The agents of the B. A O. everywhere will gladly furnish any and all information, as regards trains, time of departure and the lif e, and room for all, with every attention and courtesy may be deicnded uion. MILLER. Of paralysis, on Tuesday, May 20, lss4, Mrs. Barbara Miller, wife of Jacob D.Miller, of Somerset township, Somerset county, Pa. Interment in the new cemetery on the 2Jd. A large procession of mourners and sympathizing friends followed her to her last resting place. The deceased was a daughter of the late Christian Savior; the mother of seven sons and four daughters, 50 grandchildren and one great grandchildi who are scattered all over the Vnion ; of the family all are living bnt one son, who pre ceded her to the grave 22 years, dying on the same day of the same iaonth, his re. mains resting by theside of his mother. She had strong faith in her Iledeenier, and was a faithful und consistent member of the Brethren Church for nearly fifty years. Xearly fourytars ago she had asevere stroke of paralysis, which ended her active life and left her a helpless invalid, almost sjieechlers. With great Christian fortitude an I quiet resignation she bore her great bodily afflic tions, yet often when viewing from the win dow the transfer of the remains of some one young in life to the beautiful cemetery on the hill by the side of town, she would man age to say. " Why could not that have been me, instead ?"' Just as the earth was fairly putting on her spring verdure, and all na ture sounding the praise of her own lore- liDess, tbe second, last and fatal stroke came as summons from the Eternal in an swer to her oil repeated prayer. ill Absolutely Pure.
