Now that spring and the planting season arc approaching, it is often important lo test the vitality of seeds U-tore sowing them. We have heard the following simple and easy method tie t r.bcd. Fill a 1 ok, pan or flow er jmt part ly with rich mellow earth : make the up per surface -erfectly smooth, and on this surface draw a straight cross lines, and drop a seed at each intersection so that they mav be easily counted. Then take a w ide hoop or frame, and make a bottom to it w ith cloth stretched across, bo as to re semble a sieve. Place this upon the svett and till it with enough fine mold to form a sufficient covering for the need, which should generally be four or five times the diameter or the seed for the depth.
