the rate of thirteen miles in a minute. The
softest whisper travels at the same rate as
the loudest thunder.
Large Donations. A lady of Charleston
Mrs. Konno, a member of the Protesant
Episcopal Chutch, has left upwards of 590,
O00 to religious and charitable purposes, be
sides $70,000 in bequests to relatives, ser
vants and friends.
