This Company begs leave to inform the public that they commenced operations in 1850, and their factory now covers four acre or ground, and has cost more than a million collars and employs over 700 operatives, iney produce 7o, DUO Watches a year, and make and sell not less than one-half of at the watches sold in the United States. The difference between their manufacture and the European, is briefly this: European Watches are made almost entirely by hand. and the result is of necessity a lack of that uniformity, which is indispensable to correct time-keeping. Both the eye and the hand of the most skillful operative must vary. Iut it is a fact that, except watches of the higher grades, European watches are the product of the cheapest labor of Switzerland, and the result is the worthless Ancres, Le pines and so called Patent Levers which cost more in attempted repairs, than their original price. Common workmen, boys and women, buy the rough separate parts of these watches from various factories, polish and put them together, and take them to the nearest watch merchant, who stamps and engraves them with any name or brand . . . that may be ordered. ' ni)W AMERICAN WATCHES ARE MADE. The American Waltharn Watch is made by no such uncertain process and by no such incompetent workmen. All the Com- pany's operations, from the reception of the raw materials to the completion of the W atch, arc carried on under one roof, and under one skilllul and competent direction But the geat distinguishing feature of their W atches, is the fact that their several parts are all made by the finest, the most perfect and delicate machinery ever brought to the aid of human industry. Every one of the more than a.hundred parts of every watch is made by a machine that infalhblv re. produces every succeeding part with the most unvarying accuracy. It was only ne cessary to make one perfect watch of any particular style and then to adjust the hun dred machines necessary to reproduce every part of that watch, and it follows that every succeeding watch must be like it. The Company respectfully submit their watches on their mcrtts only. They claim A BETTER ARTICLE FOR THE I0.EY by their improved mechanical processes than can be made under the old-fashioned handi craft system. They manufacture watches of every grade, from a good, low priced, and substantial article, in solid silver hunting cases, to the fiocst chronometer; and also adies' watches m plain gold or the finest enameled and jeweled cases; but the indis pensable requisite of all their watches is that they shall be GOOD TIMEKEEPERS. It hould be remembered tint, except their sin gle lowest grade named "Home Watch Company, Boston," ALL WATCHES made by them - AK FI LLY WARRENTED by a special certificate, and this warrantee a good at all times against the Company or its agents. Are now constructing a Railroad from OMAHA, NEBRASKA, westward towards ihe Pacific Ocean, mak ing with its connections an unbroken line A0E0SS THE CONTINENT. The Company now offer limited amount of their FIRST MORTGAGE BOXDS having thirty years to run, and bearing an nual interest, payable on the first day of Jan uary and July, in the City of New Vork, at the rate of SIX PER CENT. IN .GOLD, AT Ninety Cents on the Dollar. This rond'is already completed to Jules burgh, 37G miles west of Omaha, and is fully equipped, and trains are regularly running over it. The Company has now on hand sufficient iron, ties, etc., to finish the re maining portion to the eastern base of the Rockv Mountains, 141 miles, which is un der contract to be done in September of this year, and it is expected that the entire road will be in running order from Omaha to its western connection with the Central Pncific, now being rapidly built eastward from Sac ramento, Cal., during 1870. ' MEANS OF THE COMPANY. Estimating the distance to be built by the Union Pacific to be 1,563 mile$, the United Slates Goternment issues its Six per cent. Thirty-year Bonds to the Company as the road w finished at the average rate of about 2S.250 per mile, amounting to 814.208,000 The Company is also permitted to issue its own Firet Mortgage Bonds to nn equal amount, and at tlie 6a me tune, wnicn by special Act of Congress are mode a rirnt Mortgage on the entire line, the bonds of the United States being subordinate to them The Government makes a donation of 12,' 600 acres of land to the raye, amounting to 20,032,000 acres, cstimntedlo be worth $.30, 000,000,rraking the total resources, exclusive of the capital, 118,41G,000 ; but the full value of the lands cannot now be realized. The authorized Capital Slock of the Com pany is one hundred million dollars, of which five millions have already been paid in, and of which it is not supposed that more than twenty-five millions at most will be required. I he cost of the road is estimated by com petent engineer? to be about one hundred million dollars, exclusive of equipment. I'KOSPECTS FOR BUSINESS. ; The railroad connection between Omaha and the east h now comDlcte, and the earn ing of the Union Pacific on the sections a I ready finished for the first two weeks in May were 8113.000. These sectional earnings as the road progresses will much more than pay the interest on the Companies bonds, and the through business over the only line of rail road between the Atlantic and Pacific must be immense. VALUE AND SECURITY OF THE BONDS. The Company respectfully submit, that the above statements of facts fully demon strates the security of their Bonds and as ad ditional proof they would suggest that the Bonds now offered are less than ten million dollars on 517 miles of road, on which over twenty million dollars have already been ex pended; on 350 miles of this road the cars are now running, and the remaining 137 miles ore nearly completed. At the prescut rate of premium on gold these bonds pay an annual interest on the present cost of NINE TER CENT., and it is believed that on the completion of the read, like the Government Bonds, they will go above par. - The Company intend to sell but a limited amount at the present low rate, and retain the right to advance the price at their option. Subscriptions will be received in New York by the Continental National Bank, No. 7 Nassau St., ('lark, Dodge & Co., Bankers, 51 Wall St., John J. The scrofulous contamination is va riously caused by mcrcurir.l iise:i5c, low living, disordered digestion from unhealthy food, impure air, likli and filthy habitr, the' depressing vices, an!. above - nil, Ly the venereal infection. Whatever Le it origin, it m hereditary in the constitution, descending ' from parents t: children unto' the third nnd fourth jjrenersition ; " indeed, it seems to Le the rod of Him who says, 44 1 will visit the infinities of the fathers iiKn their children." The diseases it originates taka various names, aceordinjr to the organs it attacks. In the Inngs, Scrofula produce' tubercles, and finally Consumption-; in th glands, swellings which nsj purnte and be come ulcerous tores; in the ttomnch and bowels, derangement which produce indi gestion, dyspepsia, nnl liver complaints; on. the skin, eruptive and cutaneous affections. -These, all having the same origin, rcquiro tho same remedy, viz., purification and invigora "tion of the" Lloo-.l. Purify the Llood, ant these dangerous distempers leave j ou. Willi feeble, foul, or corrupted Mood, you cannot have health; with that "life of the flesh"' healthy, you cannot have scrofulous disease.- Aycr's Sarsaparilla is compounded .from the most effectual anti-" dotes that medical science has discovered for this afilicting distemper, nnd for the cure of the disorders it entails. That it i3 fur supe rior to any other remedy, yet devised, is known by all who have given it a trial. That it does combine virtues truly cxtraordinary in their .effect upon this class of complaints, is indisputably proven by the great multitude of publicly known and remarkable cures it has made of the following diseases: King's Evil, or Glandular Swellings, Tumors, Eruptions, Pimples, Blotchsa and Sores, -Erysipelas, P.os cr St Anthony's Firv Salt Rheum, Scald Head, Coughs from tuberculous deposits in tho lungs, White Syphilitic Infections, Mercurial Disease v Female Weaknesses, and, indeed, the whole series of complaints that arise from impurity of the blood. Minute reports cf individual cases may be found in Avtn'a Asieeicajt Almanac, which is furnished to the druggists for gratuitous distribution, wherein may be learned the directions for its use, and somo of the remarkable cures which it has niada when all other remedies had failed to afi'ord relief. Those cases arc purposely taken, from all sections of the country, in order that every reader may have access to somas one who can speak to him of its benefits fromr personal experience. Scrofula depresses tlio vital energies, and thus leaves its victims far more subject to disease r.r.d its fatal results than arc healthy constitutions. Hence it tends to shorten, and does greatly sljorten, the average duration of human life. Tho vast importance of these considerations has led us to spend years in perfecting a remedy which is adequate to its cure. This we now offer to the public under the name of Ater's SaivSATwtiilla, although it is composed of ingredients, son. of which exceed the best of twrsaparilfa in alterative power. By its nid you may protect yourself from the suffer ing and danger of these disorders, l'urga out the foul corruptions that rot nnd fester in the blood, purge out the causes of disease, and vigorous health will follow. By its pecu liar virtues this remedy stimulates the vital functions, and thus expels the distempers which lurk within the system or burst out on any part of it. Wc know the public have been deceived by many compounds of SarsapariHa, that promised much and did. nothing; but they will neither Ihj deceived nor disappointed in this. Its virtues have been proven by abun dant trial, and there remains no question of its surpassing excellence for the cure of tho afflicting diseases it is intended to reach. Although under the same name, it is a very different medicine from any other which ha been before the people, and i3 far more ef fectual than any other.whkh has ever been available to them.
